Driven by a significant rise in international gold prices, the value of Pakistan’s official gold reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan increased by Rs 392 billion during the fiscal year 2026.
At the close of the fiscal year on June 30, 2026, the total value of these reserves reached Rs 2.334 trillion ($8.39 billion). This follows a similar trend from the previous fiscal year (2024-25), when surging global bullion rates added Rs 591 billion to the national reserves, valuing them at Rs 1.942 trillion by the end of FY2025.
During fiscal year 2025-26, Pakistan’s official gold holdings also experienced a physical increase of 70 kilograms, bringing the country’s total gold reserves to 64.82 tons. The substantial rise in the rupee value of the reserves was primarily propelled by a 22.5 percent spike in global gold prices over the course of the year.
