MANSEHRA: Four members of the same family were killed and five were seriously injured in a horrific accident in the Data area of Mansehra.
The incident occurred when a jeep lost control and fell into a ditch. According to police and rescue sources, local residents were returning from a family function when the jeep suddenly fell into the ditch due to high speed. The intensity of the shock was so great that several people in the vehicle were seriously injured.
Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where four people succumbed to their injuries. Three women were among the deceased. Police say that all the victims of the accident belonged to the same family, but their identities are still being ascertained.
The injured are receiving medical assistance and the condition of several is said to be critical. Local police and Rescue 1122 personnel are still present in the area and further investigating the root causes of the accident.
The accident has left the people of the area saddened, while the bereaved family and close relatives are expressing their condolences and praying for the victims.
