TANK: Five personnel of custom police were injured when major attack has been carried out by terrorists on the York Customs Check Post located on the Waziristan Highway.
According to police and security sources, a quadcopter drone was allegedly used in the attack, after which heavy firing was continue. FBR and police sources have confirmed that a customs soldier has been martyred, while 5 personnel have been injured in the attack. The injured have been immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
At the time of the attack, there were about 27 personnel present at the check post, who fought with the youth and forced the attackers to retreat. After the incident, a heavy contingent of police and security forces has reached the spot and a search operation has been launched by cordoning off the area.
According to the latest reports, security forces have taken up positions and a high alert has been issued in the area. This attack points to the increasing use of modern technology (drones) by terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, due to which security agencies have already expressed concern.
