Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan has celebrated its first successful in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) birth, a significant achievement for couples facing infertility challenges in the area.
This milestone was accomplished by the medical team at Abida Infertility ICSI & Maternity Home Services (AIIMS) in collaboration with Rehmania Hospital. Fertility specialists Dr Anila Rehman and Dr Sobia Rehman led the initiative, utilising advanced reproductive technology to reach this success.
In remarks to the press, Dr Anila expressed that the IVF results were “satisfactory and in line with national standards,” emphasising that this breakthrough will benefit many families who previously needed to travel to larger cities for similar treatments. “This success brings hope, happiness, and a new beginning for infertile couples in Dera Ismail Khan,” she added.
The medical team extended their congratulations to the new parents on the arrival of their healthy baby girl and wished for her well-being. Experts in the medical field consider this development a positive step towards making assisted reproductive treatments more accessible to residents of smaller cities.
