ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a scheduled maintenance and upgrade of its key digital platforms, during which several online tax services will remain temporarily unavailable for more than two days.
According to an official statement, the maintenance will begin at 12:30am on Saturday, August 8, 2026, and continue until 5:00am on Monday, August 10, 2026, spanning approximately 52 hours and 30 minutes.
During this period, taxpayers will not be able to access several critical online services, including the IRIS tax management system, Digital Invoicing, the Payment System, the Synchronized Withholding Administration and Payment System (SWAPS), and POS Registration.
The FBR said that no transactions, tax return filings, payments or registrations will be processed through these platforms while the maintenance work is underway.
The tax authority has advised taxpayers, businesses and other stakeholders to complete all pending and time-sensitive tax returns, payments and registration procedures before the scheduled shutdown to avoid inconvenience or delays.
The FBR said the maintenance is aimed at upgrading and improving the performance and reliability of its digital systems. It assured taxpayers that all services would be restored immediately after the maintenance is completed.
The board also apologized for the temporary disruption and thanked taxpayers for their patience and cooperation during the scheduled maintenance period.
