PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Health Department Promotion Cell of the Directorate General allegedly used fake seniority lists in promotions of the department officials, which prompted the launch of an inquiry into the matter.

Sources say that in light of this information, a formal investigation has been initiated. The Health Department has ordered an immediate inquiry into the alleged illegal activities occurring in the Promotion Cell of the Directorate General of Health Services in Peshawar.

After receiving complaints regarding irregularities in promotions, the department has formed a two-member inquiry committee led by Additional Secretary MTI Pir Muhammad Khan.

The committee is expected to submit its final report to the Health Department within 15 days. As an initial measure, the committee has summoned the Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Clerk, and Computer Operator of the Promotion Cell to record their statements. The concerned officers have been directed to appear on November 14 with complete records.

Furthermore, it has been noted that an earlier inquiry into this matter was conducted at the level of the Directorate General of Health Services, and its report was submitted on September 26. This report has been provided to the newly formed committee to guide further legal action.

Health department officials have assured that a transparent and impartial investigation will be conducted, and strict action will be taken against any officers found responsible for the misconduct.
