Another 600 million corruption scandal surfaces in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department, in which serious allegations of unauthorized payments and financial irregularities of 600 million have been made made by various officers.
According to the report, a total of more than Rs 600 million rupees has been looted in alleged corruption in the department.
The inquiry team has held former DG Health Dr. Shaukat Ali, Dr. Mubashir Ahmed and Accountant Fazal Dayan responsible and said that Rs 79.9 million was paid to a private company through fake invoices, but there is no record of the supply of goods after the payment.
The report further reveals that Rs 61.2 million was issued to a person named Israruddin in the name of fake repair of vehicles, while suspicious payments of crores of rupees were also made to two private companies and the relevant records are missing from the accounts section.
According to the inquiry report, the amount of Rs 101.3 million received as bank profit was not deposited in the treasury and was allegedly used for unauthorized expenses.
The government suffered a loss of more than Rs 50 million due to non-deduction of tax, while the savings of Rs 306.8 million were also not returned contrary to the GFR rules.
The inquiry committee has recommended that strict departmental action be taken against the officers involved and recovery of the financial loss be ensured. According to sources, the report has been sent to the concerned authorities.
