ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has set December 31 as the deadline for all members of Parliament to submit their asset and liability statements for the fiscal year 2024-25.
According to the commission, the statements must include the assets and liabilities of spouses and dependent children.
MPs are required to submit the statements on Form B, which is available free of cost at the ECP secretariat and its regional offices. The form can also be downloaded from the Election Commission’s website.
The commission warned that names of MPs who fail to submit their statements by the deadline will be published on January 1, and their parliamentary membership will be suspended from January 15.
Suspended members will not be allowed to participate in any parliamentary proceedings until they submit their statements.
The ECP further cautioned that false information in the statements will lead to legal action, which must be initiated within 120 days if misreporting is established.
The commission urged all MPs to comply within the stipulated time to avoid legal complications and suspension of membership.
