PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday issued a notice to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, to personally appear before the ECP in the election code of conduct case on November 28.

After hearing of the case on Saturday in the office of the District Monitoring Officer, where the KP government lawyer, Ali Bukhari and Advocate General appeared on behalf of the Chief Minister, ECP issued notice to the CM to personally appear before the ECP on November 28 and clarify his stance on the case.

It is pertinent to mention that the District Monitoring Officer had issued a notice to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, to appear in the case and explain the violation he committed during a rally in Haripur.
On the request of the Chief Minister’s lawyer, the hearing was adjourned till November 28. However, the authority directed the CM KP to appear on November 28.
Similarly, the Tehsil and Chairman Samiullah Khan appeared at 10 am to attend the meeting of the PML-N candidate of NA-18, Babar Nawaz Khan.
The District Monitoring Officer imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on him and directed him to deposit it in the government treasury by November 27 and submit a challan.
Murtaza Javed Abbasi has been summoned to his office at 2 pm today, and PML-N candidate Babar Nawaz Khan at 4 pm to present an explanation.
