SWAT (Shahzad Naveed): Earthquake tremors have jolted parts of the Swat valley on Tuesday, causing panic among the citizens who recited Quranic verses while coming out of their shops, offices, and houses.
According to the Islamabad Seismological Centre, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 5.1 on the Richter scale.
The Seismological Centre says that the earthquake was 210 kilometres underground, while its epicentre was the Hindu Kush mountain range. As soon as the tremors were felt, people came out of their homes and offices chanting the Kalima Tayyaba.
There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or property; however, the administration is monitoring the situation.
