ISLAMABAD: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has strongly dismissed claims of civilian casualties in Kabul, labeling the associated propaganda as completely false. He stressed that the main targets of the recent strikes were the weapons and ammunition stockpiles belonging to the Afghan Taliban.
During a discussion on a private television program, Lieutenant General Chaudhry confirmed that the recent attack also destroyed a significant depot of Afghan Taliban drones. He noted that the extensive explosions and subsequent destruction were visible to the entire city.
The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) clarified that Pakistan does not have any conflict with the Afghan people, who he stated are currently being held hostage by terrorists. In his statements, General Chaudhry revealed that many Taliban fighters do not wear uniforms and often dress as civilians. He asserted that the Taliban employs drug addicts for suicide bombings.
Additionally, the DG ISPR highlighted that the drones being used against Pakistan are supplied to the Afghan Taliban by India. In another segment of the program, Lieutenant General Chaudhry provided key information regarding the Kabul attack and ongoing counter-terrorism operations. He confirmed that a major depot of Afghan Taliban drones was also destroyed during the operation, with powerful explosions and resulting fires visible throughout the city.
The DG ISPR reported that 81 airstrikes had been conducted in Afghanistan so far, targeting locations where notorious terrorists like Khawja Noor Wali, Bashir Zeb, and Gul Bahadur were believed to be hiding. Lieutenant General Chaudhry reiterated that India is behind the terrorism occurring in Pakistan, accusing it of sponsoring and funding terrorist groups operating in the region.
He also pointed out that the five terrorists involved in the attack on Wana Cadet College were Afghan nationals, and that more than half of the terrorists in various groups are also Afghan. He explained that many Taliban fighters disguise themselves as civilians and use drug addicts for suicide attacks.
The DG ISPR emphasized that this war has been imposed on Pakistan by terrorists and their handlers, asserting that Pakistan has no conflict with the Afghan people, who are themselves being victimized by these terrorist groups.
He urged Pakistan’s allies to provide guarantees regarding the situation, noting that the international community had previously advised Pakistan to “wait,” and now it is “time for others to show patience.”
Additionally, the DG ISPR said that Pakistan made multiple attempts for negotation with Afghan Taliban.
In his statement, DG ISPR asserted that the ongoing conflict is a war imposed on Pakistan by terrorists and their handlers. He clarified that Pakistan has no conflict with the Afghan people, who he said are themselves held hostage by these terrorists.
He also urged Pakistan’s allied countries to provide guarantees regarding the situation, asking, “Can anyone in the world give such a guarantee?” He recalled that while Pakistan had been advised to be patient in the past, it was now time for others to show patience.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry made it clear that no one would be allowed to carry out terrorism in Pakistan under any circumstances.
