A judicial magistrate in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur over repeated absence from court proceedings.

The cases pertain to two FIRs registered at the Bhara Kahu police station in connection with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Azadi March. During the hearing at the District and Sessions Court, Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti noted that Gandapur had failed to appear despite multiple summons.

The court subsequently ordered the issuance of arrest warrants due to his continuous non-appearance.

In the same cases, PTI founder Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and other leaders have already been acquitted.

The court adjourned further proceedings until January 5.
