The Abbottabad Anti-Terrorism Court has approved a three-day remand of four accused involved in the Dr. Warda murder case.
The accused were presented in court, the police requested a 27-day remand of the accused, the court granted a three-day remand of four, including the woman involved in the murder, to the police.
The Joint Investigation Team formed to investigate the Dr. Warda kidnapping and murder case in Abbottabad visited the victim’s house. The 8-member JIT team met the family, the JIT expressed condolences to the victim’s family, and obtained important information and evidence related to the case.
The JIT members assured the family that the investigation is ongoing in a transparent manner and the report will be completed within five days and submitted to the relevant authorities. The victim’s family also put forward the key points of the investigation and their concerns before the JIT. The JIT includes Khayyam Hassan, Additional IG Sonia Shamrooz, and other senior officers, and the team has started closely examining all aspects of the investigation.
The victim’s family has been assured by the JIT that the accused will be brought to justice according to the law. It should be noted that the provincial government has formed a JIT (Joint Investigation Team) to investigate the kidnapping and murder case of Lady Dr. Warda Mushtaq in Abbottabad.
Three days ago, the provincial government had decided to form a JIT in the Dr. Warda Mushtaq murder case, and the letter was sent to the Chief Secretary with the approval of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The letter recommended the formation of a JIT due to the sensitivity of the case and public outrage. It was suggested that the JIT be headed by a senior civil officer of the provincial government.
The letter recommended the inclusion of CTD, Special Branch, Abbottabad Police, and the prosecution in the JI.
