PESHAWAR: After a surprise visit by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, strict action has been taken against the administrative performance of Lady Reading Hospital, and the hospital director has been immediately removed from his post for poor performance.
According to an official letter, during the inspection of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, patient care and administrative matters were found to be worrisome. Especially serious shortcomings were identified in the treatment of emergency and newborn children.
The letter states that on the instructions of Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi, the head of the PADS Emergency has been suspended, and a fact-finding inquiry has also been issued.
Any negligence in the care of newborn children and patients brought to the emergency department has been declared unacceptable.
The provincial government has made it clear that the zero-tolerance policy against poor performance in the health sector will be strictly implemented, and indiscriminate action will continue against those who neglect public health.
