PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Sohail Afridi congratulates 94 lawyers of Justice Lawyers Forum on joining the Insaf Lawyers Forum
“We have come to end the culture of one state, two constitutions” remarked Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while addressing the Lawyer gathering. The courts have been paralyzed by the 26th Constitutional Amendment and their struggle is a movement for true freedom and rule of law, in which the legal community has to play a central role.
Chief Minister announces approving grant Rs4.2 million for the bar associations of the province, which will be provided in a few days. “We will not allow the constitution and law to become a spider’s web in which the weak get trapped and the strong get out”, Chief Minister said.
“The constitution and law are equal for everyone, we have to bring the powerful and those who do injustice to justice” he vowed. He expressed sorrow over the plight of justice in the country when an SHO putting the order of the court into thrash despite the court order to meet with Imran Khan.
“Sitting on the road is not my weakness but the helplessness of the courts which are unable to implement their orders, if judges are hostages, tell the public so that they could be released. Our struggle is for the independence of the judiciary, supremacy of the constitution, rule of law and freedom of the media” he said.
