ISLAMABAD: Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad has announced that the moon for Rabi-ul-Awwal was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan.
“The moon for Rabi-ul-Awwal was not sighted across the country; therefore, the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal will be Saturday, August 15,” Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said.
Accordingly, 1 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH will fall on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The announcement follows moon-sighting efforts conducted across the country to determine the beginning of the Islamic month.
Based on the lunar calendar, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, observed as Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), will fall on Wednesday, August 26.
