Buraq Automobile plans to establish a local assembly plant for premium Italian and Chinese motorcycles in Pakistan, potentially reducing prices by lakhs of rupees.

CEO Mobeen Ahmed confirmed the plan in an exclusive interview with PakWheels, saying the company aims to complete the plant by December 2026 and begin production in January 2027.

Buraq Automobile currently imports and sells Benelli, Moto Morini and QJMOTOR motorcycles. Under its new plan, the company will initially assemble Moto Morini models and another international brand whose name remains confidential.

The confirmed lineup includes the Moto Morini Alltrhike 450, followed by a 300cc adventure motorcycle. If the project proceeds as planned, Buraq will become one of Pakistan’s early entrants in the local assembly of premium, high-displacement motorcycles.

According to Ahmed, local assembly could make these motorcycles more affordable because CKD kits generally attract lower duties than fully built imports.

He cited the Moto Morini Alltrhike 450 as an example. The imported model currently costs Rs 26 lakh, while the tentative locally assembled price stands at Rs 19.95 lakh. This represents a potential reduction of Rs 6.05 lakh, or around 23%.
