ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has introduced a new digital payment system under which women beneficiaries can withdraw their payments from any authorized retailer of partner banks across Pakistan after receiving a confirmation SMS.
In an official statement, Additional Secretary BISP Dr. Asmat Nawaz said staff training and awareness among women were essential for the successful implementation of the new system. He said the facility would allow women to collect their payments from authorized retailers in any city, reducing travel costs and the difficulties of visiting designated payment centres.
Dr. Asmat Nawaz directed BISP staff to guide women on the safe use of digital wallets, protection of mobile phones and SIM cards, and receipt of full payments. He also advised beneficiaries to keep transaction-related SMS messages secure.
He made it clear that unauthorized deductions from payments would not be tolerated. Women facing payment-related complaints can call the BISP helpline at 0800-26477 or visit their relevant tehsil office for assistance.
