LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to abandon extremist politics and return to the democratic framework, emphasizing that true progress and stability can only be achieved through political reconciliation and democratic processes.
Moreover, Bilawal Bhutto also pointed out that the federal government must give priority to the public-private partnership (PPP) model which he considering the ongoing economic crisis and fiscal limitations. He talked about the successes of the Sindh government’s PPP projects which have been acknowledged worldwide, even by the Economist magazine that ranked it in the sixth spot in the region. He proposed that this model could be done at the federal level and in other provinces as well.
On the other hand, when asked about his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the 18th anniversary of Benazir Bhutto’s death, Bilawal said that it was only about homage and no political matters were discussed.
Bilawal Bhutto has even said that political parties should rather look for political solutions to the country’s problems such as economic distress and security, than aiming at the long-term total victory of one particular party. He reasserted that the state institutions should not be attacked.

Political issues must be resolved through parliament, says Governor Kundi
The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has commented that the politicians of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) faced serious punishment, even being imprisoned and yet not saying anything about the state institutions, thereby making it clear that political issues should always be resolved through legal and parliamentary means.
Kundi, during a press conference said that the federal government owes Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a debt and that his party is backing the provincial government on this issue. He also advised the KP government to argue their case and talk rather than using foul language.
“You cannot win a case through slogans and insults,” he said, suggesting that the province should form a parliamentary committee to negotiate with the federal government, assuring full support if such a step is taken.
Kundi remarked that his party had a tough time sticking to the system and likened the need for political solutions to be found through parliament and politics. He said that the party has always been a parliamentary politician in the sense that it was an honour for the PPP that Asif Ali Zardari was twice president.
The governor further mentioned the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and he suggested intelligence-based operations to bring about peace in the region. Illegal Afghan refugees, he said, should be sent back to their country while legal migrants would be permitted.
He did not assert that every Afghan was a terrorist, however, he did mention that some of the Afghan nationals had been involved in the terrorist incidents in Pakistan. He asked the Afghan government to make certain that its land is not used against Pakistan.
Kundi, in relation to national security and diplomacy, said that Pakistan had not only militarily but also diplomatically been able to respond to India with a successful outcome, further stating that the global recognition of the leadership of Pakistan is an indication of the improved international status.
He added that, in no case, would they negotiate with the people who take up guns against the government, furthermore, he insisted that no security forces mean the province cannot operate.
