PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet is set to consider a proposal to conduct the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) through the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) at its meeting today.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, will discuss a range of administrative, financial and development-related matters, according to the agenda issued for the session.
Among the key items is a proposal to amend the Counter Terrorism Wing Service Rules 2026. The cabinet will also consider restoring helicopter-lift capabilities for rescue and disaster-response operations.
The proposed transfer of responsibility for conducting the MDCAT to ETEA is also included on the agenda. The cabinet will further discuss presenting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority’s annual report before the provincial assembly.
Other agenda items include a monetisation policy for judicial officers and proposals concerning World Bank financing for the Flood Resilience Project, including financial support for its irrigation component.
The Election Commission of Pakistan’s Annual Report 2025 is also scheduled to be presented to the cabinet.
The cabinet is expected to consider a proposal to increase compensation for the heirs of martyred religious scholar Maulana Mirza Jan to Rs10 million.
Additional matters on the agenda include amendments to the West Pakistan Registration Rules, implementation of e-registration, establishment of a new tehsil named Umerzai in Charsadda district, and the launch of a multisectoral school meal programme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
