PESHAWAR: Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar expressed regret over the holding of Senate election without a disqualification reference from the Chairman Senate, while a petition had already been filed against this illegal disqualification.
Talking to the media outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad, Barrister Gohar said that there was a hearing on Shibli Faraz’s petition before the constitutional bench, and we had challenged the disqualification notification by the Election Commission.
Barrister Gohar said that the hearing was adjourned in the Peshawar High Court, which was declared null and void today by the Supreme Court, and a direction was issued to the High Court to decide after hearing both sides. He said that the court said that we do not want to go into further complications, and the court said that many other people’s disqualification cases are related to this.
He further said that he hopes that if the case goes to the High Court, we will get relief, the Election Commission does not have the authority to disqualify anyone without a reference from the Chairman of the Senate.
