ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will remain closed for public dealings on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, on account of a bank holiday.

According to an official statement, all banks across the country, including development finance institutions (DFIs) and microfinance banks, will also remain closed for customer transactions on the specified day.

However, SBP clarified that while public banking services will be suspended, employees of all banks, DFIs, and microfinance institutions will continue to report to work and perform routine internal operations.

The SBP advised customers to plan their financial transactions accordingly in light of the scheduled closure and to avoid inconvenience during the holiday period.

NADRA Issues Holiday Schedule, Offices to Remain Closed for Two Days

Meanwhile, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that its offices across Pakistan will remain closed on the occasion of Ashura.

According to a statement shared by a NADRA spokesperson on social media, all its offices would remain closed on June 25 and 26, 2026. Moreover, the 24 hours operating centers of NADRA would also remain closed from 12 am between June 24 and 25 till 8 a.m. of June 27.

However, the organization added that the NADRA mega centers which work on Saturdays, will not see any change in their working schedule during this period.

It was further informed by the organization that citizens could access the services via Pak-ID mobile application even during the holiday period.

NADRA has suggested that citizens plan their visit according to the announcement.
