Babar Azam’s latest video statement urged the player to avoid pressure and focus on game practice ahead of the major event.
Babar Azam’s latest video statement has come out ahead of the big clash against India in the T20 World Cup 2026, in which he talked about the pressure of the match and the team’s strategy.
Babar Azam said that “The match between Pakistan and India is always very intense. Not only both countries but the whole world has their eyes on this match, due to which it goes to a different level.”
He added that “I have learned over the years that the more calm and relaxed you keep yourself in this big match, the better you will be able to perform.”
He said the players to focus only on their game instead of paying attention to “outside noises” (criticism or noise). He believes that the more tension-free the players are, the better it will be for the team.
This high-voltage encounter will be played on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Babar is asking the team to stay calm, former cricketers Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Amir are criticizing his strike rate. Ahmed Shehzad even said that if Babar plays a match-winning innings against India, he will feed the entire crowd.
