ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Armed Forces have launched a significant counteroffensive, Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, targeting key Taliban positions in Afghanistan. Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has revealed that the operation has resulted in the confirmed death of 133 Taliban militants, with over 200 others injured.

The Pakistani military conducted air and ground operations against Taliban strongholds situated in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar which resulted in substantial damage to the group’s defense systems. Tarar announced that the operation would result in more casualties because the military plans to conduct additional attacks on Taliban locations.

The operation resulted in the destruction of 27 Taliban posts which Pakistan forces captured 9 of those posts. The attack destroyed two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, and two ammunition depots. Pakistan military forces attacked a crucial logistics centre which included three battalion headquarters and two sector headquarters, while the strikes resulted in the destruction of more than 80 Taliban tanks and artillery guns and armoured personnel carriers (APCs).

Pakistan military forces will maintain their aggressive operations against Taliban forces which continue to attack Pakistan. Tarar confirmed that Pakistan forces will take strong action against upcoming threats when he stated that The response to these aggressive actions will be swift and forceful. We will not allow anyone to threaten our sovereignty.”

The recent military operation demonstrates Pakistan’s ongoing determination to eliminate terrorist threats that come from outside its borders while the country seeks to protect its sovereignty and security.
