ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, on Wednesday announced jobs for 37 employees of ‘Nukta’, a digital platform that had fired them early this morning, reportedly due to a financial crunch.
In a video statement, the Federal Minister made this announcement, stating that digital media was not stable in Pakistan. However, he would hire all those 37 Nukta employees within 48 hours.
He further said in the video that the jobless Nukta employees would be given job letters within 48 hours. He added that they would be hired on different digital platforms.
Nukta is a digital platform of the property tycoon, Malik Riaz, who has also been facing different cases in Pakistan. The digital company management on Wednesday morning announced the removal of 37 employees out of 137 working at the platform in different roles.

The laying off of 37 Nukta employees had left a concerning wave across the media sector in Pakistan. People in the field have also criticised the Nukta decision in this difficult era of journalism.
