DUBAI: In the last Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025, India defeated Sri Lanka in a dramatic Super Over finish, setting the stage for a blockbuster final against Pakistan on September 28.

Sri Lanka matched India’s 202-run target in regulation overs, but faltered in the Super Over, managing only two runs without hitting a boundary and losing two wickets to Arshdeep Singh’s brilliant bowling. India chased the modest target with ease, maintaining their unbeaten run in the tournament.

Earlier, Sri Lanka’s chase was powered by Pathum Nissanka’s magnificent century, the first of the tournament, studded with six sixes and seven fours. Kusal Perera added 58 crucial runs, keeping Sri Lanka in contention until the very last ball. Requiring three runs off the final delivery, they could only manage two, forcing the game into a Super Over.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka allowed India to post a strong total. Abhishek Sharma top-scored with 61, while Tilak Verma (49) and Sanju Samson (30) provided solid support to take India to 202/6 in 20 overs.

The thrilling encounter is already being hailed as one of the most memorable matches of the tournament.
