PESHAWAR:Arrested member of the banned organization ISIS was presented in the special anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Peshawar under tight security where the CTD requested his physical remand.
ATC Judge Farid Khan Alizai heard the case. The investigation officer told the court that the arrested accused Tufail belongs to the banned organization ISIS and has been involved in several terrorist acts in different areas including Peshawar. According to the investigation officer, the accused was arrested yesterday and further investigation is very necessary.
The CTD informed the court that it intends to obtain important information from the accused, for which physical remand is indispensable. The investigation officer requested the court to hand over the accused to the CTD on physical remand.
After hearing the arguments, the court granted the CTD’s request and ordered the accused to be handed over to the CTD on a five-day physical remand. The court also directed that the accused be produced again after the investigation is completed.
