Apple is reportedly planning to delay the launch of the standard iPhone 18 model until 2027 as part of a revised product release strategy, according to industry reports.
Sources familiar with the matter said the standard iPhone 18 could be introduced between March and June 2027, while Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone in September 2026.
The delay is reportedly not linked to supply chain challenges but is instead part of Apple’s broader launch planning.
According to the famous supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new iPhones, namely the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e could be launched in March 2027 and could come packed with 9GB of RAM, with the Pro models featuring 12GB of RAM.
Also, it has been said that the new Pro line of iPhones could have a price rise of up to $200 and even Apple’s first foldable iPhone will likely debut with an increased price tag above $2,000.
In case these reports turn out to be true, people considering to upgrade their phone in September 2026 would not get a chance to do so using the budget iPhone models because the standard and budget ones will launch later in 2027.
Apple has not officially confirmed the revised iPhone 18 launch timeline.
