ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will conduct its second nationwide anti-polio campaign of 2026 from April 13 to 19, aiming to vaccinate more than 45 million children across the country, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre.

Officials said children will also receive supplementary Vitamin A doses during the campaign to help strengthen their immunity.
Nearly 413,000 polio workers will take part in the drive, going door-to-door to administer the vaccine to children under the age of five.

According to the campaign plan, more than 23 million children will be vaccinated in Punjab, over 10.6 million in Sindh, and more than 7.2 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Balochistan, over 2.6 million children will receive polio drops, while more than 460,000 children will be covered in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, over 228,000 children will be vaccinated in Gilgit-Baltistan and more than 760,000 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The EOC urged parents to cooperate with vaccination teams and ensure that all children under five receive polio drops. It also advised parents to complete routine immunization for children from birth to 15 months on time to protect them from preventable diseases.

The first nationwide anti-polio vaccination campaign of 2026 concluded on Sunday, with more than 44.1 million children vaccinated across Pakistan.

According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), Punjab recorded the highest number of vaccinations, with more than 22.9 million children given polio drops during the campaign.

The vaccination campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administered vaccines to approximately 7.1 million children, while Sindh reported more than 10.4 million vaccinations. Balochistan administered polio drops to approximately 2.32 million children.
