ISLAMABAD: The Awami National Party (ANP) has decided not to attend the dinner hosted by the Prime Minister in honour of the coalition parties.

According to sources, the Awami National Party has reservations on some points of the proposed constitutional amendments.

Sources say that the party leadership decided not to attend the dinner after consultation.

The Awami National Party has 3 members in the Senate, who are playing an active role in parliamentary activities.

According to sources, the ANP is of the view that no decision on the constitutional amendments should be taken in haste without complete consensus.

The ruling parties on Sunday proposed three additional amendments to the standing committees of both houses of parliament on law and justice, which reconvened to discuss the 27th Constitutional Amendment. The three new amendments include renaming the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

In addition to the ANP, the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) also submitted their amendments.
