NEW DELHI: Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has dismissed reports of his retirement, clarifying that he has no plans to step away from acting or television.
The 83-year-old actor shared a newspaper clipping on his blog carrying a report about his alleged retirement.
Bachchan explained that a remark he had previously made in his blog “It is late, time to retire” was not a reference to retiring from work.
According to the actor, he was simply referring to the end of a long day of work and meant that it was getting late and time for him to go to sleep.
In his characteristic humorous style, Bachchan clarified that by “retire,” he meant wrapping up work and going to rest for the night.
With the clarification, the veteran actor put an end to speculation about his retirement and made it clear that he remains actively engaged in his professional commitments.
Bachchan is currently hosting the 18th season of the popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), which first premiered in 2000.
