PESHAWAR (Rani Andaleeb): The Al-Khidmat Foundation has launched a nationwide drive under the title of “One Child Away from Education to bring out-of-school children to the foundation schools.
This was announced by the Central President of Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, Professor Dr Hafeez-ur-Rehman, while addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the new building of Al-Khidmat Foundation School, Sirki Charsadda, on Friday.
The construction of the new building of Al-Khidmat Foundation School, Sirki, covering an area of 6 kanals, has cost more than Rs 80 million, in which more than 900 students are currently studying.
The inauguration ceremony of the new building of Al-Khidmat Foundation School, Sirki, Charsadda, was held in the new building of the school under the chairmanship of Provincial President Khalid Waqas. On this occasion, Emir Jamaat-i-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Central Abdul Wasi, Ameer Shah Hussain Advocate of District Charsadda, renowned lawyer and President of District Bar Association District Charsadda Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Advocate, District President of Al-Khidmat Foundation Qari Shafiullah, other leaders of Al-Khidmat Foundation and Jamaat-e-Islami and parents of the children attended in large numbers.
Addressing the ceremony, the speakers said that currently, more than 20 million and 6 million children across the country are of school age, but unfortunately, they are out of school, while the number of children out of school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is more than 5 million.
The speakers said that Al-Khidmat Foundation is striving to increase literacy in the country. Currently, there are 26 branches of Al-Khidmat Foundation Schools across the province, in which more than 10,000 children are being provided with quality education facilities at their doorsteps, including 800 orphans who are being provided free educational facilities, while more than 2,200 students are being exposed to basic education through 22 street children centres across the province.
