KP Police Gets Major Security Boost with 8 APCs, 10 Modern Ambulances

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed has handed over eight armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and 10 modern ambulances to police officials representing different regions of the province.

The handover ceremony was held at the Central Police Office, Peshawar, and was attended by all Additional Inspectors General and Deputy Inspectors General of Police.

During the ceremony, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed personally inspected the APCs and ambulances and received a detailed briefing on their features and operational capabilities. He also handed over the keys of the vehicles to the relevant senior police officers.

The eight APCs include six Zarb-e-Haider vehicles and two Dragon-class armoured personnel carriers.

Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said the modern APCs would ensure the safe movement of police personnel during emergencies and counterterrorism operations.

He said the provincial police force was being equipped with modern resources to enhance its ability to respond effectively to security challenges.

The IGP further stated that the newly provided ambulances were equipped with essential medical equipment and facilities to ensure timely medical assistance for injured police personnel in the field.

He added that the modern ambulances would help provide immediate first aid to injured officers and facilitate their prompt transportation to hospitals.

Major Police Reshuffle in KP: Four Officers Transferred

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Department has announced transfers and postings of four police officers.

According to an official notification issued by the Office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the following transfers and postings have been ordered:

Tahir Iqbal (BS-18), serving as District Police Officer (DPO) Upper Kohistan, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation, Abbottabad.

Dr. Saad Afridi has been appointed District Police Officer (DPO) Kurram.

Ayaz Mahmood, serving as SP Investigation, Abbottabad, has been transferred and posted as SP Haveliyan, Abbottabad.

Malik Habib Khan, serving as DPO Kurram, has been transferred and posted as DPO Upper Kohistan.

The notification stated that all transfers and postings would take effect immediately in the public interest.
