WhatsApp has started testing its scheduled messages feature for iPhone users, allowing selected beta testers to schedule messages to be sent automatically at a specific date and time.

According to technology website WABetaInfo, the feature was previously spotted in the Android beta version and is now being tested with a limited number of iOS beta users.

The new feature will allow users to write a message in any chat, press and hold the send button, and select their preferred date and time. The message will then be sent automatically at the scheduled time.

The feature could make it easier for users to send birthday wishes, reminders and important messages without having to remember to send them manually.

For now, scheduled messaging is available only to selected beta testers. Users who have not received access cannot manually enable the feature.

Testing is continuing on both iPhone and Android, suggesting that WhatsApp may expand its availability in the future. However, the messaging platform has not yet officially announced a public release date.
