ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to announce relief measures for the public within the next 48 hours, according to his special assistant, Huzaifa Rehman.

The expected announcement has drawn attention after Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar shared a photograph of the prime minister on social media platform X, saying that something big was coming soon.

“Stay connected,” Tarar wrote, hinting that the prime minister would make an important announcement shortly.
Huzaifa Rehman also said the announcement would bring good news for the public and asked people to wait for the next 48 hours.
He suggested that the relief measures could include a reduction in petrol prices. According to him, petrol prices had fallen in recent days and could decrease further.

Rehman said a further cut in petrol prices could also help lower the prices of other goods, providing additional relief to people.
He added that if the government was raising public expectations through its announcements and publicity, the relief measures should meet those expectations. However, the government has not yet officially confirmed the details of the expected relief measures.
