PESHAWAR: Questions have started to be raised over the use of resources allocated for the poor and deserving people during the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

‎An alleged irregularity has been revealed in the distribution of sewing machines worth Rs. 3 Crore (30 Million) in the Provincial Assembly constituency PK-58 Mardan, after which an investigation has been started.

‎The Commissioner of Mardan Division has appointed the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) as the inquiry officer to probe the matter of distribution of sewing machines. The inquiry will examine the distribution process and related matters to bring the facts of the alleged irregularities to light.

‎According to sources, the issue of utilization of resources allocated in the name of poor and deserving people has gained importance. After allegations of irregularities also surfaced in social sector projects during PTI’s tenure, the scrutiny of these matters is now being questioned.

‎The inquiry into the distribution of Rs. 3 crore sewing machines in PK-58 is being considered important in this context.

‎The decision to investigate the matter during the new administrative government is seen as an important step towards ensuring transparency in the use of government resources and public welfare projects.

‎If irregularities are proven in the distribution of money and goods allocated in the name of the poor, it will be possible to fix responsibility and take action against those responsible.

‎The process of accountability for welfare projects started during PTI’s era and accounting for the use of government resources has gained importance. However, the final determination of irregularities and responsibility of any individual or institution will only be possible after the inquiry is completed.
