DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has annulled the appointments of 35 female primary school teachers in Dera Ismail Khan over alleged irregularities involving fake appointment letters.
The department has also directed officials to recover the salaries paid to the teachers and deposit the recovered amount into the government treasury.
According to a notification issued by District Education Officer Syeda Anjum, the authorities were unable to verify the appointment orders, service records and posting details of the women. As a result, their appointments have been declared invalid with effect from the dates on which the orders were issued.
Salary Recovery Ordered
The notification states that officials must prepare a comprehensive record of all salaries paid to the affected teachers and take the necessary steps to recover the public funds.
The recovered money is to be deposited into the government treasury in accordance with the department’s instructions.
The education authorities have also directed the relevant officials to initiate proceedings for the registration of cases against the teachers over the disputed appointments.
Further legal action is expected as the department pursues the matter and addresses the alleged misuse of government funds.
