ISLAMABAD: An alleged audio recording of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur discussing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has surfaced, reportedly highlighting growing differences within the party leadership.
According to media reports, Gandapur is heard blaming Raja’s planning and political strategy for the provincial government’s removal and the difficulties currently faced by the party.
In the alleged recording, Gandapur reportedly expresses anger over Raja’s recent statements and demands that he delete his social media post, clarify his allegations and apologise.
Gandapur Criticises Raja’s Strategy
In the audio, Gandapur allegedly says that the party is now facing the consequences of what he describes as Raja’s flawed planning.
He reportedly argues that Raja was neither given complete authority nor able to deliver the expected results.
Gandapur also claims that Raja has repeatedly been invited to meetings of the parliamentary committee but has failed to attend them.
The former chief minister is further heard saying that Raja is respected because of PTI founder Imran Khan, while questioning who is providing him with what Gandapur considers incorrect information.
The authenticity of the alleged audio recording has not been independently established.
Salman Akram Raja Raises Concerns Over PTI’s Internal Consensus
Separately, Salman Akram Raja has raised concerns about developments involving the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the party’s organisational structure.
In his recent statement, Raja said that PTI’s internal consensus was being challenged by what he described as undemocratic decision-makers.
He also rejected claims suggesting that 68 provincial lawmakers were preparing to announce a new chief minister or had cut off contact with incumbent Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
Raja urged party workers in Peshawar and other areas not to believe narratives he described as conspiratorial until the relevant investigations had been completed.
He maintained that Sohail Afridi remained the chief minister under the law and Constitution.
PTI’s KP Leadership in Focus
Raja also clarified the party’s organisational arrangements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that Junaid Akbar had been appointed provincial president by Imran Khan himself. He added that Ali Asghar was performing the duties of acting president in Junaid Akbar’s absence.
The reported audio leak and the recent statements from the two PTI leaders have brought internal disagreements over party strategy, provincial leadership and political decision-making into the spotlight.
However, the claims attributed to the alleged recording remain unverified, and no independent confirmation of its authenticity was available in the supplied report.
