MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Imran Khan, nephew of superstar Aamir Khan, has reportedly been issued a notice by Mumbai Police directing him to leave India by October 28 following his participation in a protest against the Indian Chief Election Commissioner.

According to Indian media reports, the actor was detained by Mumbai Police for taking part in the demonstration, during which he reportedly demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.

The media reports further stated that the authorities issued a notice against him after arresting him under the Immigration Act, considering his involvement in the protest.

As per Indian police, Imran Khan is an American citizen and not an Indian citizen and only possesses an OCI card.

This action against the actor has come into the limelight as a connection has been established between his involvement in the political protest and the immigration notice for leaving the country on October 28.
