PESHAWAR: TransPeshawar has made NADRA biometric verification and registration mandatory for all Zu Peshawar cards from October 15, setting December 31, 2026, as the deadline for completing the process.
According to TransPeshawar, unregistered Zu cards will be blocked from January 1, 2027, and will no longer be valid for travel on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.
Passengers have been advised to complete the registration process before the deadline to avoid disruptions to their travel.
Registration Available at All BRT Stations
TransPeshawar said registration facilities would be available at ticket counters at all BRT stations during station operating hours.
Adult passengers must bring their original Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and Zu card. Counter staff will enter the required information and complete registration after biometric verification.
The registration fee has been fixed at Rs10 per Zu card.
Registration Procedure for Children Under 18
TransPeshawar has also outlined a separate registration procedure for children under the age of 18.
Children’s Zu cards can be registered using either their B-Form or a parent’s or guardian’s CNIC.
For registration through a B-Form, the child’s original B-Form and Zu card will be required, and the child’s biometric verification will be carried out.
If a parent’s or guardian’s CNIC is used, the adult’s original CNIC, the child’s Zu card and the presence of the relevant parent or guardian for biometric verification will be necessary.
Foreign Passengers Can Use Alternative Options
Foreign passengers travelling on the Zu Peshawar system can use the Zu app or purchase a single-journey ticket, according to TransPeshawar.
TransPeshawar Urges Passengers to Register Early
TransPeshawar Chief Executive Officer Dr Syed Murtaza Asghar Bukhari said the initiative aims to strengthen system security by verifying passengers’ identities and ensuring safer, more organised and convenient travel.
He urged passengers to complete their registration well before December 31 to avoid last-minute crowds and ensure uninterrupted access to travel facilities.
Passengers who fail to register their Zu cards by the deadline risk having their cards blocked from January 1, 2027.
Peshawar BRT to Add 27 More Buses, Arrival Expected Next Week
