RANCHI: West Indies pulled off a stunning six-wicket victory over India in the second T20 International, chasing down a massive target of 250 runs to level the three-match series at 1-1.
Captain Shai Hope led the charge with a magnificent unbeaten 102, while Sherfane Rutherford smashed 84 runs and Romario Shepherd provided the finishing touch with an explosive unbeaten 34.
Playing in Ranchi, West Indies reached the target in the 19th over, losing just four wickets in a remarkable display of power-hitting against the Indian bowling attack. Hope anchored the chase with a sensational century, while Rutherford’s aggressive innings kept the visitors firmly on course.
Shepherd then helped seal the victory with a crucial late contribution. Rovman Powell scored 24, while Kamil Pooran managed four runs. Shimron Hetmyer was dismissed for a duck. Despite India’s formidable total, the West Indies batters produced a remarkable response to complete one of the most memorable successful run chases in men’s T20 International cricket.
