ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday summoned the Indian Chargé d’Affaires to register a strong protest over the killing of two Pakistani civilians by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the International Border.

According to an official press release issued by the Ministry, the incident occurred on October 2, 2026, in the Bedian Sector. Pakistani authorities stated that BSF personnel deployed “unprovoked lethal force” against unarmed civilians, calling the action unjustified and disproportionate.

The Foreign Office categorically rejected any attempts to label the victims as “infiltrators,” emphasizing that the incident represents a grave violation of fundamental human rights, specifically the right to life, as well as protections granted under international law.

During the diplomatic meeting, Pakistan urged India to conduct an immediate, transparent, and credible inquiry into the killing and take strict legal and disciplinary action against the personnel involved. Furthermore, Islamabad requested that the findings be formally shared with the Government of Pakistan, while emphasizing the need for India to strictly adhere to bilateral border management arrangements, exercise maximum restraint, and prevent the recurrence of such incidence.
