ISLAMABAD: The federal government has increased profit rates on several National Savings schemes, offering higher returns to investors, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance.
Under the revised rates, the profit rate on Defence Savings Certificates has been increased by 19 basis points to 11.80%.
The profit rate on Behbood Savings Certificates and Pensioners’ Benefit Accounts has risen by 12 basis points, bringing the new rate for both schemes to 12.72%.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the profit rate on Regular Income Certificates has been increased by 60 basis points to 11.76%.
Meanwhile, the rate for Special Savings Certificates has been raised by up to 74 basis points, with the new profit rate set at 11.82%.
The government has also revised profit rates for Sarwa Islamic Term Accounts. The three-year plan has received an increase of 41 basis points, taking the rate to 11.57%.
For the five-year Sarwa Islamic Term Account, the profit rate has been increased by 54 basis points to 11.70%.
The revised rates have been introduced under a new notification issued by the Ministry of Finance and will apply to the respective National Savings schemes.
