ISLAMABAD: The government has announced another reduction in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, providing some relief to consumers amid rising inflation.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs1.49 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been cut by Rs2.74 per litre.
Following the reduction, petrol will now be available at Rs387.54 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced to Rs402.23 per litre.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism for September 30, 2026.
According to the Petroleum Division, the revised prices are linked to international market rates for petrol and diesel.
The notification said the latest adjustment was made in light of changes in international prices, Platts rates, premiums and other related costs.
The new prices will take effect from September 30, 2026.
