Gas supply to households across the country has been restricted to key cooking hours as authorities introduce load management amid growing uncertainty over LNG supplies from Qatar.
The restrictions have been imposed on domestic consumers as Pakistan faces uncertainty over the availability of LNG, with authorities limiting gas supplies to periods when households typically require it for cooking.
QatarEnergy’s force majeure, declared following an attack on the Ras Laffan LNG production facility on March 4, 2026, has reportedly not yet been formally lifted.
The development has raised concerns over the continuity of LNG supplies to Pakistan and prompted authorities to manage gas distribution for domestic consumers.
