TANK: Section 144 has been imposed in Tank district today, September 26, from 6 AM to 7 PM.
During this period, movement on important highways including Tank, Jandola and Gomal Zam Dam Road will remain suspended and Ranwal and Jandola bazaars will remain closed.
District administration said the decision has been taken due to law and order and security concerns. Public has been requested to cooperate and avoid unnecessary travel.
Tank district administration imposed Section 144 today 26th September (6 AM to 7 PM) as a preventive security measure.
Security forces convoy movement is expected on Tank – Jandola – Wana Road and Gomal Zam Dam Road. To avoid any untoward incident, public movement is restricted.
Tank is a main route connecting South Waziristan to D.I. Khan and Punjab. Administration fears PTI workers from Waziristan might gather and block Indus Highway, so as precaution markets and roads are closed.
In recent weeks Tank, Jandola and Gomal areas have seen targeted attacks and IED blasts. Police said Section 144 is imposed to maintain law and order and to avoid public gatherings.
District Police Officer Tank has appealed public to avoid travel on these routes during this time and cooperate with police and security forces.
