A procedure has been introduced for citizens to lodge complaints if they face problems while availing themselves of the Prime Minister’s Petrol Relief Scheme.
Citizens can now submit complaints directly through the Pak App by opening the application, selecting the Fuel Complaint option, entering details of the issue, attaching a picture of the fuel token and submitting the complaint.
The app also allows users to track the status of their complaints.
Under the scheme, motorcycle and Qingqi rickshaw owners are eligible for a monthly subsidy of Rs100 per litre on up to 20 litres of petrol, while owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc can avail themselves of the relief on up to 30 litres per month.
To register for the subsidised fuel, applicants are required to send an SMS containing REG, their CNIC number, vehicle registration number, the first letter of their province and the registration date to 9771.
Once registration is completed, applicants receive a confirmation message. Before visiting a petrol station, they must send TOK to 9771 to receive a token number.
The token can then be presented at the designated petrol station, where the beneficiary receives confirmation of the subsidised fuel. The message also specifies the eligible quantity of petrol and the period during which it can be used.
