MALAKAND: Malakand Levies personnel reportedly conducted a raid at the residence of Shakeel Khan and recovered a double-cabin Revo vehicle allegedly used in an incident.
According to sources, the vehicle is owned by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and has been taken into official custody. Shakeel Khan reportedly fled the premises before Levies personnel arrived.
PTI MPA’s Firing Injures Two Levies Personnel After Junaid Akbar’s Threat
Yesterday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Shakeel Khan has been accused of opening fire on Levies personnel in Malakand, with two officials reportedly injured in the incident.
According to the claims circulating in connection with the incident, Shakeel Khan was allegedly present when his guards opened fire on Levies personnel. Videos purportedly showing Khan’s presence at the scene and the alleged firing by his security guards have also surfaced.
The incident comes amid heightened political tensions following remarks by PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar regarding the party’s planned September 27 protest in Islamabad. Akbar had used the term “Somnath” while describing the planned movement, drawing criticism from political opponents.
The allegations against Khan have prompted calls for a high-level investigation into the Malakand incident. Those raising the issue have demanded that a first information report (FIR) be registered against Khan and others allegedly involved, followed by arrests and legal action.
They also called for a zero-tolerance approach toward any attack on Levies personnel, saying no leniency should be shown to those found responsible.
