ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is preparing to march on Islamabad; however, the government will not allow anyone to spread unrest in the capital.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi said that there is an order of the Islamabad High Court; despite that, if an attempt is made to hold a long march towards Islamabad, its consequences will be harmful for the marchers and their workers themselves.
The Interior Minister said that most of the sensible politicians in the PTI leadership do not want a long march; there is still time to avoid going into a blind alley from where there is no way back. Mohsin Naqvi said that this time it will not happen that protesters come to Islamabad and sit for 10 or 20 days and the country’s system is affected. According to him, the government will adopt a permanent line of action to deal with the long march this time.
He said that those who try to attack Islamabad will have to face severe consequences, while threats like Somnath and rhetoric will make no difference to the government. The Interior Minister said that if PTI comes to Islamabad for a long march, the government will leave no stone unturned this time and action will be taken according to the law.
Regarding the medical check-up of PTI founder Imran Khan, Mohsin Naqvi said that it is not necessary to tell everyone everything about his check-up; if the demand is for the medical check-up of the PTI founder, then his medical examination was also done last night. Mohsin Naqvi further said that no one will benefit from attacking Islamabad; therefore, the PTI leadership should adopt a political and constitutional path instead of confrontation.
