BUNER: In the main area of Buner, Sawari Suni Gram, a joyous engagement ceremony turned into a tragedy after guests consumed contaminated food.
According to details, more than 90 people who ate the unhealthy food fell ill.
Sources at the District Headquarters Hospital said that 50 people have been discharged after complete treatment, while 40 affected persons, including mostly women and children, are still under treatment. The condition of 2 persons is stated to be critical.
The affected patients are facing severe difficulties due to lack of facilities at the hospital.
Talking to Pakhtoon Digital, the relatives of the patients lashed out at the performance of the provincial ministers. They said that there is no proper health facility in Buner, no medicines, and no doctors are available on time. They demanded immediate notice from the Chief Minister and Health Minister.
The district administration has collected samples of the food and sent it to the laboratory for testing. Further investigation is underway.
